About My Ceramic Work
I produce functional and decorative ceramics in my home studio in County Galway. I use red earthenware clay as I am drawn to the rich earthy colour. Every piece is wheel-thrown and decorated by hand using traditional slipware techniques, and fired in an electric kiln to 1120°C.
I am guided by my early influences of traditional North Devon Slipware combining sgraffito and Mishima techniques to create contemporary earthenware. I draw inspiration from the quiet contemplation of the natural world, including the rich Irish landscape around me, combining personal imagery with illustrations infused with humour, balance and character.

About Me
I was born in North Devon where I discovered a passion for ceramics and gained a National Diploma in 3D Ceramic Design in 1992. I moved to the West of Ireland in 1995 and apprenticed with Stoneware Potter Michael Kennedy. In 2003 I set up own my pottery studio, returning to using red earthenware clay, and teaching pottery to children, adults and people with disabilities. I later returned to study and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy in 2010.
My creative process is driven by a desire for inner connection, a deep regard for the natural environment, investigation into myth and folklore, story-telling and playfulness, and a striving for creating beautiful handmade objects and art which form a personal meaning and conversation within daily life.
I balance my time between working as an Art Therapist & Psychotherapist in Counties Galway & Clare, and as a Studio Potter & Artist at my home in County Galway.
I am a member of the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland (DCCI), and the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT).
